AFI - Sing the Sorrow_AS

AFI - Sing the Sorrow(album-summary)

Widely known as afi's best work,
Sing the Sorrow is a heartbreaking compilation
of beautifully contrasted songs, each with their
own individualism and meaning.

Dark sounds and sorrowful lyrics; afi's 'masterpiece
of despair'. Prepare to be sucked deep into the heart
of this album's poetically saddening sounds, and
mysterious lyrics.

If you could sing a broken heart, and utter each
word with the powerful beauty of poetry, you
would have this album.

Looking closer into the album, you will find
secrets and mysterious quotes that will leave
your mind wandering with ideas, and although
the extent of how much you will uncover may
be limited, nevertheless you will achieve a
fresh taste of the albums mystery.

The aura of the album is in no way
obvious, which only adds further to the
meaning and depth of it, for in order
to truly grasp the extent of what the
album is portraying, you have to
listen with your heart as well.

Dragonland - Under the Grey Banner_AS

Dragonland - Under The Grey Banner(album-summary)

Set in a fantasy world known as 'Dragonland'
this album not only offers uplifting vocals and an exciting uproar of fast paced drums and guitar, but an in-depth and powerful story line.

Listening to this album will make you feel as
though you are watching a movie in which
a constant and furious battle is underway,
and although you may not know what the
fight is about, its raw power will most certainly
shift your spirit.

With a potent album intro which sets the mood
and prepares your mind for the upcoming

furiously rampant conflict of remarkable vocals
and speedy guitar shredding that is the entirety
of the album, this artistic and adrenaline rushing
album is without a doubt worth a listen.

Nightwish - Imaginaerum_AS

Nightwish - Imaginaerum(album-summary)
I find it hard to describe how I feel about this album.
Simply - I enjoyed it to what I would describe as the most I have enjoyed an album so far.

One might say that it is most similar to that of a
good dream; that dreams bring across feelings that
the visual images in the dream normally wouldn't.

My point is that the feelings this album brings
across not only makes it hard to explain
completely, but it is what makes it great.
One of the main factors in making a brilliant
album is to be able to encompass the listener
into the music.

Nightwish have always included many themes
into their albums, however I find that this one
has really engulfed itself around my mind, and
through its mysteriously dark and symphonic sounds,
created a vivid and powerful journey through my
imagination.

How I judge an album, is based on the contrast
between the songs, how much it captures your
interest, and how it blends together.

What I am most impressed by in this album,
is exactly how perfectly the album blends.

Now most artists tend to include an 'album intro'
which is used to set the mood for the album,
and to keep you interested. Although I am impressed
by this album's intro, the most notable part is its 'outro'.

The last song in the album is an orchestral version
of almost every song in the album, and I find that
this is the perfect ending, and really makes a change
from how most albums end. I have never seen such
a spectacular idea, and is simply an added bonus to an
already perfectly constructed album.
